The application for the Penang Press Club 2025 Study Grant, University Graduation Awards and University Study Loan will be open from 15th April to 15th May 2025.

The study grant are opened to members' children who have been in membership for over a year. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in primary school, secondary school, independent secondary schools, or pre-university programmes (excluding vocational training and tuition classes). Each applicant may apply for only one award. Additionally, students who scored an 'A' in the Chinese language subject in government examinations will receive an extra reward.

For the University Graduation Awards, member’s children who completed their bachelor's degree in 2024 at local or overseas colleges and universities may apply, eligible applicant must submit their degree certificate as proof.

All successful applicants will be informed to attend the award ceremony. The study grant and university awards will be presented during the club's 36th Annual General Meeting on 4th June 2025, 8pm at Gold Coast Oriental Restaurant, The Corner Club Penang, Jalan Kelawai.

The agenda for the AGM includes President's address, Confirmation of the previous minutes from the 2024 AGM, Adopt Honorary Secretary's 2024 report, Adopt Honorary Treasurer's 2024 report, and discussion of meeting proposals.

Press Club's Secretary Khoo Boo Chye reminded that all proposals must be submitted in writing at least 7 days before the meeting—by 28th May 2025—at the latest. Proposers must attend the meeting in person to explain their motions; otherwise, the proposals will not be considered. Proposals may be handwritten or emailed to pgpressclub@gmail.com and simonkhoo1007@gmail.com.

Members who wish to attend the meeting must register their names via an online form to ensure sufficient food is prepared by the restaurant. However, attendance is not mandatory. The form link is: bit.ly/2025ppcagm . Those intending to attend must complete the form by 30th May 2025.
